The template your clients use. The X-Y-Z formula (“Accomplished [X], as measured by [Y], by doing [Z]”), strong verbs, skills in context instead of a 20-skill list, impact on every bullet you can, and only 4 sections. Simple, skimmable, no colours, columns or pictures.

Your message

Hey [FIRST NAME] - I'm just about to head out the door to walk the dog and thought I'd send this through to you quickly before I forget.

I saw you [liked / commented on] my post about [TOPIC] (or: thanks for connecting!), so I wanted to properly introduce myself.

I'm Regan and I run Weekly Commit. We help senior engineers and engineering leaders land $300K+ TC roles, usually the ones who keep clearing every stage except the last one.

I took a look at your profile, and you reminded me of [CLIENT NAME] I just got off a call with.

[He/She] was [X] months into the search, getting to final rounds and hearing "not quite senior enough", and [RESULT].

The reason it works so well, is because the problem is rarely the experience. It's how it's positioned on the resume and how it comes out under pressure in the loop. So we fix the resume first, then run mock loops until the story lands. Across 82 placements in the last 12 months, average time to offer was 76 days.

It's taken me 300+ clients and 1,000+ mock interviews to really dial this in.

And right now, we've got an offer where [THE OFFER].

As you can imagine, the ATS black hole isn't a big fan of us haha. But we don't mind, the more senior engineers who get read by an actual human, the better.

Anyway, I really gotta go, [DOG'S NAME] is waiting by the door.

I'd be happy to walk you through how it works? I've got [TIME 1] or [TIME 2] free tomorrow?

If not, no biggie at all. Happy to just send you the resume template instead.

Nice to meet you!

Cheers,
Regan

What goes in each gap

  • [TOPIC]: the post they reacted to. For a new connection, use “thanks for connecting!”.
  • [CLIENT NAME] + [RESULT]: a real client who looks like this person, with their real number. For example: Jonathon, about $160K to $298K TC in 76 days. Dustin, laid off to about $450K in 78 days. Rusten, a $325K offer negotiated to $487K.
  • [X] months: how long that client had been searching. Change “not quite senior enough” if it isn't what they heard.
  • [THE OFFER]: whatever you're running right now, such as the offer-or-refund guarantee, or negotiation that's paid only if it gets 10%+ over the first offer.
  • [DOG'S NAME] and the times: your dog's name (or whatever you've actually got on), and two real slots tomorrow in their time zone.
Before it goes live

Three quick checks

  • Give the template a link. Right now it only goes out by DM or newsletter, and the “Resume templates” link in your site footer goes nowhere. Put it on one page and point Featured there.
  • One number each. Offers landed is $35M in your headline, $20M+ on your current banner and Experience, and “over $50M negotiated since 2020” on your site. Success rate is 99% in Experience and 98.78% on the site. Pick one of each and use it everywhere. This kit uses 300+ clients and $87K, which match everywhere.
  • Tidy Experience. Unlike The Others still shows as a current role, and the old resume cover graphic still carries its “U” logo. Send the Weekly Commit version.
